Overview

Zi Wei Charts ("we", "us", "our") operates ziweicharts.com and the Zi Wei Chart desktop application. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, the third parties we share it with, and your rights — including specific rights available to California residents under the CCPA/CPRA.

Categories of Personal Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

• Identifiers — email address (only when you complete a Stripe payment or use the Restore Purchase feature), and IP address (briefly seen by our hosting provider and by Stripe in the normal course of serving requests; not stored by us for analytics).
• Payment information — card details are entered on Stripe's checkout page and processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store full card numbers. Stripe returns to us the session ID, paid/unpaid status, tier purchased, and the email the purchaser supplied to Stripe.
• Astrological chart data — name, birth date, birth time, birth timezone, and gender that you enter to generate a chart. This data is processed entirely in your browser and is never sent to our servers. See the Sensitive Personal Information section below for how we treat this data under California law.
• Usage data — aggregate page views and feature-usage events collected via Plausible Analytics (a cookie-free, privacy-friendly service that does not build individual user profiles) and via Vercel Analytics. Neither provider receives your birth data, name, or email.
• Error diagnostics — if the application encounters a runtime error, we may send a redacted error event to Sentry (sentry.io) for debugging. Before any event leaves your browser, we remove the form data, cookies, email address, and IP address from the event.

Purposes for Collection

We use the information above to:

• Provide and improve the chart generation service;
• Process one-time payments for paid tiers;
• Respond to support, restore-purchase, and privacy requests;
• Diagnose and fix errors in the application;
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it to infer characteristics about you.

Sensitive Personal Information

When you use Zi Wei Charts you provide birth date, birth time, and birth location data. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), we treat this as sensitive personal information. We use this data solely to generate the astrological chart you requested, on your device. We do not use this data to infer personal characteristics, for advertising, for profiling, or for any purpose beyond providing the chart service. Because this data never leaves your browser, we do not have a copy of it to sell, share, or secondarily use.

Local Storage

Your chart profiles and purchase tier are stored in your browser's local storage (or as local files on the desktop app). This data never leaves your device unless you choose to export or share it. You can clear this at any time via your browser's site data controls.

Data Sharing with Third-Party Service Providers

We share limited personal information with the following third-party service providers who assist us in operating the site and processing transactions. Each is authorized to use your information only to perform the services we have engaged them for and is contractually or statutorily obligated to protect it.

• Stripe, Inc. — payment processing. When you make a purchase, your payment card details and the email address you provide to Stripe at checkout are transmitted directly to Stripe to complete the transaction. Stripe shares the paid/unpaid status and the tier you purchased back with us so we can unlock features. We do not receive or store your card number. Stripe's privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy.
• Plausible Analytics — cookie-free website analytics (privacy policy).
• Vercel — website hosting and built-in analytics (privacy policy).
• Sentry — error diagnostics (privacy policy).

Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Privacy Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, or sell about you;
• Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• Delete the personal information we hold about you;
• Correct inaccurate personal information;
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (we do not sell or share personal information);
• Limit the use of your sensitive personal information to what is necessary to provide the requested service;
• Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@ziweicharts.com with a description of your request and an email address we can respond to. We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within 45 days. Because we do not operate user accounts and birth data is stored only on your device, we may not hold any data for you — in which case our response will tell you so.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the disclosures above about the Categories of Personal Information We Collect, Purposes for Collection, and Your Privacy Rights are the notice required by the California Consumer Privacy Act (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100 et seq.), including the right to limit use of sensitive personal information (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.121).

We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months, and we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes beyond providing the requested chart generation service.
